O+A were making a solar sound piece in Rome, and found that the gorgeous architecture of Apolodoris had now become a bandshell for vespas and other traffic. We decided not to cover it up with "Feel Good" muzak of any kind. We discovered that the many ancient amphora standing around the ruins were vibrating to the traffic sound, and when we dropped a microphone inside discovered resonating pools of harmonics. So we put a microphone inside and sent the sound to a solar powered speaker and beamed the transformed sound back at the architecture.
