Three "tuning tubes" installed in the North Cove Harbor create melodies and chords in response to the sounds of the city (helicopters, jets, boats, voices, waves, ferry, sailboats). The sound is played back through five "cube" loudspeakers arranged in an arc on the plaza, creating a zone of real-time harmonic city sound. As the tides rise and fall the mix of tuning tubes changes key, modulating with the orbits and cycles of the moon. Nature and harmony are infused into urban public space. What you hear changes how you see.
